PhD Chemical Engineering Stipend – Aalborg University – Denmark


The PhD Chemical Engineering Stipend student will be associated with the group Mathematics for Communication at the Department of Mathematical Sciences (http://www.math.aau.dk/). This group is also part of the Danish-Chinese Center for Applications of Algebraic Geometry in Coding and Cryptography. The center is the framework of the PhD stipend. The Chemical Engineering Stipend project will be in algebraic coding theory.The applicant must have a master degree or similar and strong qualifications in algebraic coding theory, algebra or algebraic geometry. The Chemical Engineering Stipend applicant must furthermore master English both orally and in writing. PhD stipends are allocated to individuals who hold a Masters degree. PhD stipends are normally for a period of 3 years. It is a prerequisite for allocation of the stipend that the candidate will be enrolled as a PhD Chemical Engineering Stipend student at the Doctoral School of the Faculty of Engineering and Science, in accordance with the regulations of Ministerial Order No. 18 of January 14, 2008 on the PhD Programme at the Universities. According to the Ministerial Order, the progress of the PhD Chemical Engineering Stipend student shall be assessed every six months. It is a prerequisite for continuation of salary payment that the previous progress is approved at the time of the evaluation.

PhD Chemical Engineering Positions in Life Sciences,UK


Overall, the use of glyphosate resistant rose dramatically since the introduction of genetically modified (GM) crops to glyphosate. Weeds resistant to glyphosate are documented in 19 species of weeds on six continents. In the UK, currently genetically modified crops are grown, but the use of glyphosate in conventional crops has increased in recent years. To date, no resistance developed glyphosate has been reported in the United Kingdom, a number of converging factors, should it be a matter of time before it found suggest. In this project, you used a variety of experimental development to the study and modeling approaches to assess the risk of developing glyphosate resistance in the United Kingdom.

This exciting project from a TOP-BOX-up train students in a variety of skills in applied ecology and evolution support to solve a pressing problem, the impact on global food security, the student shall be the possibility of at least six months to spend on various Dow AgroSciences places within the United Kingdom (and possibly overseas). Neve laboratory uses a variety of modeling and testing of adaptive approaches to issues related to ecological and evolutionary management to explore herbicide resistance. The scholarship is for all applicants who meet the requirements of the BBSRC (UK residents).
